NüCamp T@G owners packet

The day after purchasing my 2019 nüCamp T@G camper, I started going through all of the manuals, warranties, and care package that came with it.

Welcome

NüCamp starts off with a welcome letter congratulating the investment in their product. They give thanks with a care package, and ask to hear about travels with their products.

USB Owners Manual / Bottle Opener

Having a digital copy of the owners manual is a nice feature. All together, the manuals take up eight megabytes of space, leaving seven and a half gigabytes free. They provide manuals for all 2017 models for T@B, T@B 400, T@G, and their cirrus truck camper manual 820. Given that I purchased a 2019 T@G, I found the manuals a bit out of date. However, most of the information is fairly generic, so it all seems to be fine. I reached out to nüCamp and they sent me an “updated” manual, that had the same publication date.

J5 V1 Pro Tactical Flashlight

The J5 V1 Pro Tactical Flashlight is a small flashlight 3, just short of four inches, made of aluminum alloy, and weighing just over 3 ounces on its own. It uses an AA battery to power the light up to 300 lumens. Each time you turn it on with the button on the tail, it switches the intensity between high, low, and strobe light. The beam can be adjusted to focus on a small area with more light by pulling out the head, or widened into a flood light.

Its water resistance is rated at IPX 4, protecting it against splashing water and rain for at least five minutes. A hollowed clip on the side makes it handy to put onto the side of pants, straps, and hooked or tied to thin rope. The clip can be removed with an Allen wrench.

Digital Thermometer

This Digital Thermo-Hygrometer crated by Cape Instrument Services displays both temperature and humidity, as well as an comfort indication of 🙁DRY, 😐WET, and 🙂 COMFORT with an emoji next to them. The numbers are about an inch high, allowing them to be read easier without glasses.

The temperature can display either Celsius by default, or switched to Fahrenheit with a tap of the button labeled °C/°F on the front. Another button allows you to toggle between the minimum, maximum, and current temperature/humidity. The third button allows you to clear the minimum and maximum metrics.

The device has a hole on the back to hang it on a screw or nail, as well as a folding stand to set it on a table. The battery cover slides out from the back to reveal two slots for AAA batteries, although only one battery is required. A spare battery can be stored for when the battery runs out.

It looks a bit on the cheap side as neither it nor the manual has any branding on it. Not many results came back for the specific model number, 001-TL8001. The instructions have some grammar issues, specifically with plural nouns and missing articles, giving the impression that the operating instructions are translated. Given that the manufacturer is in South Africa, this isn’t a surprise. However, they are fairly easy to understand. The device is simple enough to use that the instructions are not really necessary.

In general, it works and is functional. I had only thought about getting a thermometer later, but nüCamp appears to already be a step ahead of me.

Given the small size of the camper, I would have preferred a smaller device. The “cheapness” of the product feels like the nüCamp isn’t consistently keeping quality in mind with its care package.

RedbudSuds Soap

This bar of Sea Clay Soap is enclosed in a shoofa that acts as both a washcloth and an easy way to hang the soap to dry when done. You can hang it on your wrist so you don’t drop it when showering.

It’s a very thoughtful gift. The all-natural earth friendly aspect of it makes me feel better about unprocessed gray water interacting with the environment. With the hose hookup on the side of the camper, I’m sure I’ll be using this often.

Stickers!

Who doesn’t love stickers? nüCamp included a sticker with their logo and website address.

Warrenty

The warranty covers repairs to defects/materials free for the first year. Items excluded are the vent, axle, tires, battery, stove, converter, electronics, and anything installed after purchase. There are a few more details, exclusions, procedures, contact information, etc. The main thing is to register your warranty or keep the bill of sale on hand to prove the warranty hasn’t expired. They also list phone numbers and email addresses for most of the appliances that are covered under other warranties.

Manuals, Manuals, Manuals!

There are so many manuals, it’s ridiculous. An RV is made of many various appliances and hardware. As a result, you end up with manuals and warranties from many companies.
